Paul Nolan has 35 years’ experience working with children as practitioner, manager and, over the past 20 years, as global safeguarding advisor to a number of international NGOs, before becoming an independent consultant.Paul co-founded Keeping Children Safe and chaired the organisation for five years. He also Co-Chaired a sub group of the UN Task Force on Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse, and supported development of guidance and training on protection measures and investigations procedures for HAP International. As a consultant, Paul has developed complaints procedures and investigation guidelines for a number of INGOs and designed and delivered investigations training for designated staff in several INGOs as well as for CHS Alliance. Paul has received and responded to large numbers of child protection/SEA incidents involving staff, providing technical assistance and support to managers and others involved in dealing with such cases, as well as conducting investigations in-country both in development and humanitarian contexts.
