Training material – Quality & Accountability for the Syria Response – Arabic
The Quality and Accountability training package was developped specifically for the Syria response jointly between OCHA Turkey, IOM Turkey, CHS Alliance and Sphere, with the support of the Swedish Cooperation and IOM Turkey, in 2019.
It follows a Programme Cycle Management approach as well as the IASC Humanitarian Programme Cycle used for inter-agency purpose. It introduces a number of cross-cutting themes: participation, inclusion, complaints and feedback mechanisms, protection from GBV and SEA and Do No Harm, accross the different stages of the programme cycle. It also introduces a number of approaches: remote management, coordination, security management, staff management, and capacity strengthening. It is based on – and encourage participants to refer to – standards including the Core Humanitarian Standard on Quality and Accountability, the 2018 revised Sphere handbook, as well as :
- Inclusion Standards for Older People and People with Disabilities
- Child Protection Minimum Standards(CPMS)
- IASC Guidelines on GBV & IASC Rules on sexual conduct
- People in Aid code of good practice – Staff Competencies
- Livestock Emergency Guidelines and Standards (LEGS)
- Minimum Economic Recovery Standards (MERS)
- International Network on Education in Emergencies (INEE) Minimum standards
This package was used as a basis for a training of trainer delivered in October 2019, and a number of 3-days quality and accountability training workshops in Turkey as well as different regions of Syria.
The package includes a trainer’s guide, the training modules, the resources for printing as well as the powerpoint presentation, in Arabic. Look at the bottom of the page for the corresponding version in English.
A resource to use this training package is the Q&A PCM Booklet, available on the Community World Service Asia website in English, as well as in Arabic.
