Bringing the CHS closer to people affected by crises – Zimbabwe
Online
CHS Alliance and Centre for Humanitarian Analytics (CHA) are pleased to invite you to the online workshop on “Bringing the CHS closer to People Affected by Crisis in Zimbabwe” on 8 July 2021 11:30 – 13:00 (Zimbabwe local time).
In the past few years, interest in the Core Humanitarian Standard on Quality and Accountability (CHS) and verification has significantly grown and today the Standard is widely recognised as a measurable framework that sets out the essential elements for principled humanitarian action.
How we deliver the humanitarian and development action is as important as what the action delivers. To reach the Standard we have set for ourselves on how we work, the CHS needs to be widely owned, applied and supported by national and local actors – those who are closest to the people and communities affected by crises – as well as international actors.
CHS Alliance, together with its members and partners are reinforcing efforts to make sure the CHS is applied as closely as possible to people and communities affected by crisis. As part of these effort, this workshop is to generate learning with NNGOs in Zimbabwe on how to increase their engagement with the CHS and the CHS Alliance. We will discuss the importance of Quality and Accountability in Zimbabwe context, share experience of application of the CHS and explore opportunities and challenges of applying the CHS in Zimbabwe.
As a representative of a Zimbabwe organisation and government body working to serve people and communities, and committed to quality and accountability, you are expertly placed to take part of this a 90-minute interactive workshop and share your knowledge and insights with us on how to make sure the CHS is applied as closely as possible to people and communities affected by crisis in Zimbabwe.
If you have any questions, please contact Wonder Mufunda wonder@cha-africa.org or Bonaventure Sokpoh bsokpoh@chsalliance.org.
We look forward to seeing you at the workshop.
