Non Disclosure Agreements – we would love to hear your views
Non Disclosure Agreements or NDAs are used in the business and non-governmental sectors to protect sensitive information and commercial interests. But the use of these legally binding confidentiality contracts can also be controversial, as a number of high profile news stories have highlighted.
In what circumstances are Non Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) appropriate for the aid sector, if at all? Is their use compatible with the Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS)?
We are currently exploring these timely and pertinent questions with the intention of providing guidance on the use of NDAs and the CHS to help our members.
We would greatly appreciate hearing your views and learning from your experience.
There are a number of ways you can contribute:
- We will discuss this issue in our People Management Community of Practice on 12 March 2020
- We encourage HR Managers to contact us in confidence to share their thoughts and perspectives to inform our thinking.
- Share relevant guidance / policies / laws in relation to the Non Disclosure Agreements from your contexts.
Thanks for engaging in this timely and much needed discussion to contribute to CHS guidance on this issue.
