Regional Psychosocial Support Initiative
REPSSI leads in innovative Mental Health and Psychosocial Support interventions to transform policy and practice for girls, boys, and youth in Africa to reach their potential. REPSSI Uganda aim to: - Enhanced health, SRHR, and HIV outcomes for children, adolescents & mothers through MHPSS - Enhanced protection and sustainable livelihoods through MHPSS - Education and Early Childhood Development is enhanced through MHPSS - Disaster risk reduction and enhanced humanitarian response through MHPSS
REPSSI Uganda is represented in several global, regional, and national technical working groups on Child Protection, Child Protection in Humanitarian Action group, Mental Health Psychosocial Support and social services workforce including child protection system strengthening initiatives. REPSSI Uganda is also a member of national MHPSS NWG chaired by UNHCR. REPSSI does a lot of MHPSS advocacy work at different levels. REPSSI in partnership with TPO Uganda is implementing an MHPSS project in Kiryandogo refugee camp under Sweden funding. The project aims at mainstreaming Mental Health and Psychosocial support into the provision of humanitarian services. Under GIZ funding, is implementing an Integrated Mental Health and Psychosocial Support into Vocational Training Institutions (VTIs) in Adjumani, Terego and Madi-Okollo districts in the West Nile Region. REPSSI under USAID funding as an implementing partners with TPO Uganda as Prime, is implementing an OVC system strengthening project.
