Polish Humanitarian Action (PAH) is a non-governmental organisation operating since 1992. PAH’s mission is to make the world a better place by alleviating human suffering and promoting humanitarian values. Our aim is to help the victims of humanitarian crises caused by armed conflicts and natural disasters. We help where help is most needed - we operate all over the world. We provide immediate humanitarian response to a crisis as well as work on long-term development solutions and preventing further catastrophes. We protect the civilian population. We give particularly close attention to the most vulnerable groups: women, children, the elderly, people with disabilities and the internally displaced persons. PAH also conducts various social and educational campaigns addressed to Poles. We stress the global needs and rights of people, such as: access to drinking water, food, safe shelter and toilets. We encourage the society to get actively involved in humanitarian aid.

PAH’s humanitarian and development aid operations are currently conducted in crisis-affected areas in Iraq, Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, Ukraine and Yemen. PAH also carries out the renowned Pajacyk programme for needy children in Poland, (food and psychosocial support activities). Our Emergency Response Team follows and responds to sudden humanitarian crises, most recently in Haiti and Afghanistan. PAH’s expertise is Water, Sanitation and Hygiene but we also implement aid projects in Shelter/NFI, FSL, Protection, Education, Health and other sectors. To ensure the highest quality of the support we provide, we adhere to the SPHERE standards. PAH also educates the society by conducting various social campaigns addressed to Poles. We stress the global needs and rights of people, such as: access to drinking water, food, safe shelter and toilets. We encourage the society to get actively involved in humanitarian aid. PAH Education Team conducts school programmes in global education.
